Who I am
I am a clinical psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario, and the Massachusetts Board of Registration. I received my PhD in Clinical Psychology from University of Rochester focusing on developmental psychopathology. I completed my predoctoral training at Harvard Medical School where I received specialty training in comprehensive psychological assessment and treatment of eating disorders, and I completed my postdoctoral training at the Justice Resource Institute in Boston, Massachusetts where I specialized in assessment and treatment of trauma-related issues for clients children, adolescents, and adults. Throughout my career, I have worked in hospital, clinic, and private practice settings with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families.

I also conduct treatment development research focused on developing effective and efficient treatments for individuals and couples struggling with multiple problems associated with trauma and difficulties with emotion management. I am a co-developer of Sage, a treatment for borderline personality disorder and self harm which aims to improve couples' mental health, conflict, and relationship satisfaction.

How I work
Whether we are working together in assessment or treatment, my approach is holistic and guided by my experience as a developmental psychologist for over 15 years. I believe that to achieve the growth and change we want to see, we have to know where we came from and the effect it has had on who we are now. I aim to help you love and accept yourself with a richer appreciation of how you have gotten to where you are.

For those who have experienced abuse, neglect, or other types of trauma in their lives, I bring my years of experience as a trauma psychologist to help you heal from these experiences by creating a new relationship to them. Whatever the issues bringing you to therapy, I believe that the active ingredients of therapy, the ones that make it most effective, are a fine balance of understanding, empathy, and supportive challenge. I aim to validate and help you validate for yourself the way people in your history have hurt or disappointed you, and to come to terms with the way you may have hurt or disappointed others. Together we will examine and treat these unhealed wounds, get you unstuck from problematic patterns in your life, and work on developing new experiences of connection, pleasure, and self-compassion so that you may grow into the person you wish to become.
