FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW DO I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?
To make an appointment you may fill out a request for booking to schedule a free 20 minute consultation or email drliebmantherapy@gmail.com.
HOW LONG ARE APPOINTMENTS?
Session length will vary depending on the type of service. Initial sessions are typically 90 minutes to allow time to review the consent form and gather background information on you and your situation. Most therapy sessions are 50 minutes but may be 90 minutes in some cases (e.g., couple therapy) or if you and I agree that it would be clinically beneficial. Assessments can take anywhere from 2 hours for a basic diagnostic assessment up to 1-2 days for a complex trauma assessment that requires the use of multiple questionnaires, in depth history gathering, and collection of collateral information.
DO YOU PROVIDE VIRTUAL SERVICES TO PEOPLE RESIDING OUTSIDE OF ONTARIO
No, I am only able to provide virtual services to individuals residing in Ontario. In addition you must be physically in Ontario at the time of our session.
ARE THERE ANY OTHER REQUIREMENTS FOR VIRTUAL APPOINTMENTS?
You must be in a private space during all sessions. If you share your space with others, please make sure you have headphones and are able to have access to a private room for the duration of your session. I am not able to hold sessions in any public spaces including coffee shops, stores, or public outdoor locations, even if you are wearing headphones or the space is empty. Any sessions initiated in such spaces will need to be rescheduled and the cancellation/no show policy will apply
WHAT IS YOUR POLICY FOR MISSED OR CANCELLED SESSIONS?
I have a strict 24 business hour cancellation policy. If you cannot make an appointment, please let me know 24 business hours prior to your scheduled time. The full fee will be charged for late cancellations or missed appointments. Insurance companies do not provide reimbursement for cancelled or missed sessions.
ARE YOUR SERVICES COVERED BY OHIP?
Psychological services including psychotherapy and assessments provided by a registered psychologist, social worker or psychotherapist are not covered by OHIP. However, you may receive coverage under your private extended benefit plan or workplace benefits. Please check with your insurance plan to determine the extent of your coverage prior to services. Be sure you are clear on what services they cover (e.g., psychotherapy, assessment), by what providers (psychologist, social worker, psychotherapist) and how much they cover. Any portion of the fees not eligible for insurance coverage are tax-deductible as you qualify as medical expenses
DO YOU OFFER DIRECT BILLING TO INSURANCE?
I am not able to provide direct billing to insurance. Payment is due at the time of service through credit card or e-transfer. Once payment is received, I will provide you with a receipt that you can submit to your insurance plan for reimbursement.
