Psychological Assesment
I offer psychological assessments for adolescents and adults to help clarify mental health diagnoses and provide recommendations for school, work, and relationships that can help you be more successful in your life. These assessments may be conducted as the first step in your treatment, or as part of a standalone diagnostic process. Referrals may come from you or from doctors, lawyers, or insurance companies. As part of the process, I will conduct an extensive interview with you to understand your personality, background, and the struggles you are experiencing. You may be asked to complete questionnaires and psychological tests and I may ask to speak with other important people in your life (e.g., family members, teachers, etc.). These assessments are comprehensive and can last anywhere from 2-3 hours to a full day depending on a number of factors. At the end of the assessment, we will meet again and I will provide feedback on my findings including any relevant diagnoses and recommendations for services that may be helpful to you. I will also write a detailed report which will be made available to you and any third parties you wish to share it with.

Trauma Assesments
This is a comprehensive assessment of the mental health, socioemotional, occupational, interpersonal consequences of trauma. It includes assessment of PTSD as well as related disorders and conditions that often coincide with trauma and PTSD. You may be asked to complete questionnaires and psychometric tests about your symptoms. Recommendations will be tailored to your specific needs and questions and may included treatment recommendations and tools to help you succeed at work, in school, or in social settings. The findings of these evaluations may be requested as part of workplace injury or disability claims through the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board.

Eating Disorder Assesments
Eating disorder assessments provide an in-depth understanding of your current and historical eating behaviours, weight history, and other information that may inform an official eating disorder diagnosis. You will also be screened for other psychological disorders and conditions, and I will ask about your physical health, family history, and personal history. You may be asked to complete questionnaires, and your growth charts and records, if available, will be reviewed. Recommendations for treatment and other forms of support will be provided and shared with your family doctor if you so wish.
Fees and Payment
Costs associated with psychological assessments vary depending on the nature and complexity of the referral question. Assessments are billed at a rate of $300 per hour plus report writing time. Packages are available for half day and full day assessments and will be discussed in advance. Assessments are not covered by OHIP but you may receive some coverage if you have an extended health plan.
