How I work

My approach is collaborative, affirmative, and grounded in respect for each person's unique experiences and identities. Our lives are shaped by many factors, including our relationships, cultural backgrounds, communities, and the broader environments in which we live. I strive to create a space where all parts of you are welcome. My goal is to help you develop a deeper understanding of your experiences, strengthen your relationships, and cultivate a greater sense of authenticity, self-compassion, and wellbeing.

Many struggles that bring people to therapy leave us feeling disconnected, stuck, or uncertain about how to move forward. With 8 years of training in providing psychological services, I help you understand your experiences with compassion and curiosity, identify patterns that may no longer be serving you, and build on your existing strengths to create meaningful and lasting change.

Who I am
I am a clinical psychologist (supervised practice) registered with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario. I received my PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I have been a postdoctoral fellow at Yale University and the University of Toronto.

Throughout my education, I have specialized in working with individuals who experience trauma-related difficulties, anxiety disorders, disordered eating, and various relationship concerns. I also work with couples where one or both members are affected by a mental health condition, issues of infidelity, and struggles with high conflict. I have worked in inpatient and outpatient hospitals, community clinic, and private practice settings with adults, seniors, and couples. I have also provided psychotherapy supervision to doctoral trainees in clinical psychology and psychiatry residents. I am fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese. I conduct research on how interpersonal relationships and our neurophysiological systems affect each other, and on how to leverage clinical interventions to promote both relational and brain- body wellbeing. Through research, practice, and clinical education, I aspire to decrease mental health stigma and promote access and equity in mental health services.
